about me

I'm not gonna say much about myself because I'm not a huge fan introductions, so, the bare minimum!
i'm Mina, 23yo narrative designer, writer and artist from Italy.
Although the settings of my stories can be wildly different among them, they do often share common topics that are kinda dear to me - struggle with mental issues and the feeling of hopelessness, the concept of family and even the perception of the self.

I love exploring dark psychological themes, even in unconfortable shades, but I also take great care in representing things properly without needless romanticizing.
This said, I also do not condone any type of bullying regarding exploration of such themes - I believe that, as long as it stays in the realm of "fiction is just fiction", no theme is too heavy or morally wrong to be (always respectfully) depicted.

speaking of...lighter interests, i'm a huge final fantasy universe fan. I'm also currently very active on FFXIV, chaos dc (alyssum astrardes, my dear dancing catboy with repressed anger issues who has grown a bit too much on me).
my other big love is the nier&drakengard universe, which is also one of my huge inspirations.

art

When it comes to art, I'm kind of a late bloomer. I started taking it seriously only in 2019(ish), after a whole life of thinking I was not good enough.
But here I am! Trying my best! Yay!
I mainly draw original content, final fantasy xiv and various mobage or series I love at the moment. My hyperfixations are Many, Huge and yet fickle. Ouch.

personal projects

Original worlds and videogame projects i am currently working on, in a planning stage, or even just musing about in my spare time.
As a junior narrative designer, I have plenty of ideas - and while my ADHD sometimes makes things hard, I work even harder to reach my goals.

Fool's wheel

status: work in progress

“Upright, The Star that foretells light.
The ultimate radiance that will bless the world.
Oh, Golden Child, guide us towards our promised rapture!”

Fool's Wheel is a short-length RPG fantasy game set in a world in which the End is near - and everybody knows it.
With curious puzzle elements and an unconventional multi-branching structure, it offers multiple fun playthroughs with its RNG-dependant nature.

MAIN CHARACTERS

| ESTEL |
"This Claret Moon… How could something so beautiful bring so much misery?"
The caged Songbird Prince.
A crybaby - at least at first impression. Honestly, he might as well be the bravest of the trio.
Frail and apprehensive, sometimes he thinks of himself as nothing more than a trophy - the radiant Prince, the Star, that brings Light and prosperity.
Of course, with such an important role on his shoulders, he's never been allowed outside the Garden. He grew up under the dedicated care of Teacher and Curator, always surrounded by books and ancient tales.
The brain of the group, he speaks in a formal manner and apologizes a lot - but he also knows how to always obtain what he wants.

| NIRAH |
"I won’t be ever bound again. Not by Fate, and not by You."
Fae of the Boundary.
A peculiar and playful jokester, that hides his true feelings of loneliness and grief deep under his sharp tongue.
He doesn’t know why he was sealed inside the boundary stone, nor for how long.
He remembers very little of his life before the slumber, and tries to hide that both his amnesia and his role as the so-called “harbinger of disaster” are taking a toll on him.
Doesn't trust others easily, hates hard work, proud to be “mortally illiterate”; he claims that his favourite hobby is looking for shadowy nooks and crannies to nap in.
He speaks in a weird way - sometimes archaical, sometimes with the occasional comically misspelled or misused word.

| ADRA |
"I don’t hate Mother. I can’t hate Her. I think She’s just as lost as us."
An independent and unfettered red-headed wanderer.
Nobody knows where she comes from. Nobody knows where she goes.
Maybe she doesn’t truly know either.
She speaks rarely, usually only by using short phrases, and never about herself.
Wanderlust incarnated, her cryptic goals are "escaping from 'Mother'" and reaching "The True End".

calie

status: work in progress

"let's say, you find a seed.
and you care for the tiny floret that stems from that seed.
the floret grows and grows and grows
but, in the end
you know the floret shall become a â– â– â– â–  .

would you still hold love for it?
would you still care for it?"

Calie is a short fantasy Visual Novel with multiple endings.
The plot revolves around The Gardener, a clumsy yet affectionate fellow who is tasked with taking care of Calen, a peculiar child who seems to know very little about the world.

"Day after day, sun after moon.
I shall not forget you."

caeles

My and my gf (twt @xgardenofavalon)'s life's long, really long work.
Our original universe with its own mythology, divine pantheon, extremely huge cast of 100+ characters spawning on an also very long timeline phew
It's the collective fatigue of 4+ years of plotting and writing, and it's our pride and joy.
The hope we have for it is to actually publish a series of novel, webcomic and/or games.

STORY

Two lands, coexisting, yet never touching - those are Caeles, land of the mortals, and Conscentia, territory of the gods.
Although both created by the divine progenitors Amari (Death) and Lamus (Life), they lead totally separate existences - after the great Calamity spearheaded by the former Virtue, Aimas, the Pantheon has shut themselves away from everything, forbiding everyone from ever interacting again with the mortals.

But this doesn't mean that divinity does not tread on Caeles anymore.
The land of mortals is also home to the Memento (personifications of Sins), sheperded by Cadar (Vice) and Himeros (Lust) together with Sorne (Aether, the embodiment of the magical energy surrounding everything in this world).
Their idyllic childhood dreams are though shattered by the vilest of crimes: betrayal.
A millennia of resentment and guilt will follow, a cycle of hatred and pain that cannot be broken, nor mended eternally.

|||||||

arc i around y. 0-400 | purgatory dawn
The prequel arc to the main story, 1000 years before the events of Zenith Uprising.
Its first part covers the aftermath of the Divine Calamity, with the Memento's births and their still-tranquil lives together with Aether right until the Betrayal.
It then follows the old monarchs of the four big countries in their first desperate war against the Memento.

arc ii around y. 1400 | zenith uprising
The first Main Story Arc, a thousand year after Purgatory Dawn.
After the defeat of the Memento, the four Countries have grown each in their own way, changing either for better or for worse. Nigrine and Ianthine are locked in a decade-long bloody conflict, while Virescent has become a republic and Lesher is now divided in two.
The new regents are soon convocated to Luxia-Lamaris, the neutral island core of Caeles' religion - the Augur, divine Messenger who lives in the mortal land, is sure that something awful is going to happen, and they must unite their strenght to fight it back.

arc iii around y. 1600 | lightless dusk
Two hundred years after the Second Great War, life has gone back to normality. Or so people would like to think - yet, for the last century or so, more and more Undermonium creatures are starting to appear all over Caeles. Something wrong is taking root right into the aether around.
One day, the world is plunged into dusk - the sun shines properly no more, its radiance reduced to a faint glow - and a certain being crashes down from Conscentia bearing terrible news: the land of Divinity has been taken over by its oldest foe, greatest of menaces.
As absurd as it sounds, the only hope for salvation lies in the most unlikely alliance ever - this time, mortals and old enemies will have to face another Calamity together.

places

The land of mortals, Caeles, is divided in five main countries.

NIGRINE || the biggest of the Five countries, but also the one with the harshest terrains - mostly mountainous but also rich of huge woods and forests.
Its capital is Rabrea, home to the Royal Family of De Rouvroy.
Prior to the events of the Zenith Uprising Arc, Nigrine was involved in a decade-long conflict with the military nation of Ianthine.
Deeply connected with the Fire element, its Guardian is the divine bird Simurg.

IANTHINE || A nation with unsurpassed military power, lead by the Supreme General and its Elite.
Also famous for its fortified capital Yavris, and its beautiful Noctia archipelago.
Prior to the events of the Zenith Uprising Arc, Ianthine was involved in a decade-long conflict with the rival nation of Nigrine.
Deeply connected with the Earth element, Ianthine is the only nation that does not have a Guardian anymore - for a series of reasons the divine beast Martis is no more.

LESHER || The most peculiar of lands. Around y. 400, for some reasons its territory divided in two both geografically and politically, and now shows two vastly different climates too. Stomed by snow and cold winds, East Lesher is under the gentle rule of the royal family of Rozier from Gentiana, while the Bennett Family sits on lush and sunny West Lesher's Freycairn throne. The two kingdom usually have an amicable relationship, the bond between the two royal families is said to be everlasting.
Deeply connected with the Ice element, its Guardian is the divine wolf Vanargand.

VIRESCENT || Luxurious Virescent is famous for being home to most of the most illustrious scholars and artists of all time. Many prestigious academies have been built in its windy valleys, thriving under the wise democratic council situated in capital Courante.
Deeply connected with the Wind element, its Guardian is the divine griffin Shirdal - although, the royal bloodline needed to invoke its aid is long lost.
...or not?

LUXIA-LAMARIS || A tiny island considered the core of Caeles itself. Its homonymous city is built upon a beautiful crossroads of water and rivers, famous for its alabaster-colored buildings and spires.
It is home to the Augur, Divine Messenger whose duty is to shepherd and take care of mortals, no matter how foolish they may be.

||||||||||||

COSCIENTIA || The divine land of the Pantheon, forever closed to any other being. No mortal, half-god, or even Augur, can step into its gates.

||||||||||||

UNDERMONIUM || Simply put, hell. The Otherside where Sin flows free, and foul creatures roam.
Both a prison and a place of unholy rebirth, it is said to be the corrupted reign of an Evil long defeated, but never completely disappeared.
